The Nutcracker - Dec. 3 and Dec. 4th @ the Northwood Performing Arts Theatre

Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy would like to invite you to a very special evening to experience the magic of The Nutcracker Ballet, led by artistic directors Dmitri and Jennifer Kulev.

The Nutcracker Ballet was first performed in 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in Russia, made its way to the United States in 1940 and was debuted by the San Francisco Ballet. Now a tradition during the Holiday Season, we would like to have you join us for this beloved Ballet and experience the magical story of young Marie, the Mouse King and the Nutcracker Prince.

This year we are proud to have Principal Dancer, Tiit Helimets, from the San Francisco Ballet perform the role of the Nutcracker Prince. Tiit is joined by the students that attend Ballet classes at Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy from Elementary, Middle and High Schools from our local community including Irvine, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach and Newport. A few of these students are also apprentice dancers for the Orange County Ballet Theatre.

The Land of the Sweets

Come one, come all! The Orange County Ballet Theater (OCBT) is hosting a fantastic fundraiser all in the name of performing arts! In an effort to bring the arts to Orange County and our youth, OCBT is excited to be offering a world class performance of The Nutcracker, in December. Students and professionals are practicing diligently to present a spectacular show.

As we all know, for every show, funds are needed for costumes, a venue, and much more. Please support our cause by attending this family fun-filled event: The Land of the Sweets.

We'll even give your loved ones a little taste of ballet by featuring short vignettes throughout the event. Be sure to stay for whole thing or you'll miss it! In addition, there will be a Holiday Boutique, Bake Goods, Kids' Crafts, a photo opportunity with various Nutcracker characters, and a chance to write a letter to Santa Claus (he'll even respond by sending a letter directly back to your home)! If you have kids, nieces, nephews, or grandchildren...this is the perfect outing for you. Again, it's on Sunday, November 20 at 1pm. $5/person. Be there or be square.
